THE ROUGE REVIEW VOLUME X

Welcome back my little Rougettes

So what has been going on in the world of Ruby Rouge?? Well firstly it was a busy day on hope street with the annual Christmas fair in which lots of stalls where set up in Blackburn house and there was plenty on offer from Zoe Photography, Craft stalls and face painting!!! A good day was had by all!!

With us edging closer and closer to the festive day that is Christmas there are many Christmas parties in full swing!! The one time of the ear that is totally acceptable to get drunk in front of your boss and photocopy a picture of your own bum!! (No I'm only joking) But on a serious note this is the time of the year when you can get your glam on in front of the people who see you day in and day out in your normal clothes and boring hair and Make-up!!! SCR Studios has been booked up for the season giving ladies a full on glam makeover for their annual night on the tiles!!

It was a particularly special time last week when we travelled to Great Yarmouth for the Premiere Sports Launch of the Greyhound premiere League!! We were on hand all evening for all of the Presenters to make sure that they looked their best on camera!! Robyn was lucky enough to make it on screen herself handing over a trophy for the second race of the evening!!

COPYCAT COCO

This week our Miss Rouge shows us how to get that all important glittery eye look for that Christmas party!!

ENJOY XOXO

Hey there Rougettes!!

So what has been happening the last two weeks!! Well decided to kick back and have some fun all in the name of good old Halloween!!! I love this time of year as Hair and Make-up creativity is always at its highest and I love having a good old play whether it be on my own face or others!! Anyone and everyone gets involved...even the men!!!! So I decided to visit the annual attraction that is FARMAGEDDON!!! I must admit i was impressed with all of the SFX makeup and cant wait for the 31st to actually come now to try out some new things!!!

Then on a whole different note the Rougettes and I decided to take a field trip to the Professional Beauty show in Manchester!!! We had a good wander round to see all of the latest products available and have a good old chatter with those in the know!! I must admit I was impressed with Art Deco stand and managed to spend some pennies whilst I was chatting away to fellow Make-up Artists!!We also attended a fab demo from the airbrush king himself John Woodbridge!! Also special mention to the Elemis stand which had its own branded double Decker bus in which people could pay to have treatments on!!! ( This is definitely a Rougette dream)!!

My fabulous Sian went and did her bit for charity at a Look Good Feel Better afternoon which helps ladies who are being treated for cancer make the most of themselves!!! They are each given a goodie bag full of products and then shown how to use them!!! This is a wonderful cause and they are always looking for new volunteers!!!

There have also been some fab jobs in the last 2 weeks including glamorous makeovers, scary makeovers and our favourite of the last 2 weeks was a surprise appointment for the fabulous Ellies 20th birthday in which her best friend arranged for 2 Rougettes to show up at her house and give her the full celebrity treatment of hair and make-up for a night on the tiles!! We hope she had fun!

The Rouge Booth was busy all evening, touching up the make-up and hair of all of the attendees!!! We wish Emma all the best in her new Venture!!
*****LONDON FASHION WEEK*******
Then it was the ever fabulous LFW!!! I was lucky enough to travel down to London with the ever fabulous Sian and Robyn and attend some Fabulous events!!!! Here is a Picture i took of the girls in Amika Nightclub!! The event was for the 'Sex and the London City' Blog which is written by Nixalina, a fabulous socialite giving you insight into her fabulous life including fashion, beauty and sex!!!! The party was held by the fabulous Karena Sedgwick of Fashion Forward PR!! Fabulous lady=Fabulous Party!

My fabulous Sian was lucky enough to travel back down to London for the annual Soap Awards to be on hand for any Make-up needs before hitting the red carpet!!
******FAST FASHION HAS LAUNCHED******
Ladies Fast Fashion has launched!! This fab online store is dedicated to bringing you the latest trends straight to your door and is jam packed with the best brands and amazing clothes!!!
This site is definitely worth a browse and even better So Coco Rouge also provided hair and Makeup for the branding!!!

To top off my weekend 'The Rouge School' opened its doors once again and this time there was no pretty faces in sight as the workshop was dedicated to SFX Makeup!! The Girls did a fabulous job and we at HQ hope they enjoyed their time with us as much as we did with them!
The Rougettes were also featured in the 'Winning Women' Section H Magazine!! I'm so proud of my girlies!!
" Ive recently had my Make-up done by So Coco Rouge, and i must say I'd hugely recommend a trip to see them in Hope Street at the earliest opportunity" H Mag

The evening was 'Best Bib and tucker' and there were some fabulous outfits on show!! it was an exciting evening of food, drinks, Entertainment and of course dancing!! The amazing raffle and auction Prizes helped to raise a whopping £10000

COPYCAT COCO

For the current moment it is all about fashion!!! With Fashion weeks over all around i have decided to choose a look from the last fashion inspiring you all for the current season!!! Autumn/Winter is upon us and its the fabbest time of the year by far!! This is the season in Which we can all be much more experimental in our fashion and much more importantly more expressive in our make-up!!! Its time to ditch the shimmer bronzers and collect a whole new look!!

Slightly different to the normal copycat segment today is about 'the trend'

  • The key to this look is a good base!! A full coverage base is fine for this and a quality concealer to hide any of those skin imperfections and blemishes!! We at SCR HQ love the mineral range Lily Lolo! A strong base can be achieved by buffing light layers of the foundation to build up a good coverage!
  • Contour under the cheekbones to make your bone structure POP! This will give you a stronger look with edge!
  • A pearl neutral shade of eyeshadow is good for the eyelids and cheekbones to make them pop if you wish!! Natural in Bedhead TiGi is a good shade.
  • Mascara is Key to dramatise your eyes! For extra glamour opt for some false eyelashes!!
  • Finish the look with a Bold lip colour! Reds, Berry tones or even black are bang on trend for the coming season which can take your look from day chic to night time fabulosity!!  I am loving the new Kate Moss range for Rimmel, and my favourite of the moment is 001
So........ Spotted
Ok so it seems i have told you my whole life story but just to recap the SCR girls and I have been spotted in some amazing places within the last month....
Hide and Seek, Amika Nightclub London, Westfield London, Hope Street Feast, Hard Days Night, The Metropolitan Cathedral, The Soap Awards London, Wigs up North Manchester, Southport Beach, Liverpool Design Festival, H Mag, Manchester Evening News, Knowsley Hall, Welshot Stockport, Static Studios Liverpool and many more!!

THE ROUGE REVIEW VOLUME V

Hey fashionistas!!

So I'm starting this week by saying.... EEEEEEEEK its always most exciting when its Fashion week time!!! So New York Fashion week kicked off last week and boy were we in for a treat!!!!  I think that its definitely safe to say that... colour is back.  Whether it be pastels, brights, bold lips or a full on colour explosion!!!  It certainly looks like a fun and fashionable Spring/Summer ahead of us!!BRING ON LFW!!!

Back to the lovely Rougettes who have been busy working on a new Channel 4 programme for Optomen TV!!  They were also asked to be the make-up designers on yet again another film!! This time it was a film titled 'I have a bad feeling about this.'  This was a great opportunity to help the rougette team gain some experience on set!!  The girls had a fabulous time and enjoyed working with such an amazing and talented crew, and of course the amazing wrap party held at the Shipping Forecast!!

Our lovely Sian was also interviewed for the fabulous More! magazine about having her dream job, and being a fabulous entrepreneur at the tender age of only 24!!! This makes us very happy at SCR HQ! Go Sian!!!  Our girls were also interviewed by the fabulous His and Hers Magazine and can be spotted in this months 'Winning Women' Section!!

We have also had some visits from the lovely girls whom took part in the SCR 'Rouge School' portfolio day!!! As the girls have been coming in we have been looking through their pictures together and we must say we are very impressed with the standard!!!
Not forgetting we had a very special appointment in the studio this week when our sweetest bridie ever Sarah booked in for a Make-up lesson to learn the tricks of the trade for that 'party look'!!! Sarah loved the Lily Lolo brand and left the studio with a whole new make-up bag!!

COPYCAT COCO

OK so Tuesday night saw the 2011 annual TV soap awards!!  Therefore i have dedicated this section to a special lady whom has won the 'sexiest female' award the last 3 years!!! That's right she has won the title 2009, 2010 and now again 2011!!  You go Girlie!!!
Its no wonder Michelle Keegan has won this award so many times with her long flowing locks, her fabulous bone structure and flawless skin! So who wouldn't want to look like her??? So here are the tips to re-create her latest red carpet look!!

  • For this look I would start with the eye makeup by applying a gel liner around the whole circumference of the eye, Macs Blacktrack would be a good one for this.
  • I would add quite a thick line above the top lash line (don't worry about being neat) and would then blend the liner out stopping at the socket line using a Mac 217 brush.  I would then add a small amount of black eyeshadow (or a dark grey/brown depending on preference) and blend that into the whole eyelid concentrating on the outer corners.
  • Then apply a good coat of Volumising mascara like YSL's Volume effect mascara.
  • You may find that you will have some droppage from the eyeshadow, Hence why we have done the eye makeup first!! So just clean up around the eye area.
  • Apply a good flawless base.  A great one for any skin type is Lily Lolos mineral foundation.  (Available at SCR HQ).
  • If you can still see in any flaws in the skin apply a small amount of a Lily Lolo concealer.  (They do a great range of skin perfecting concealers)
  • Michelle certainly does have a glow in this picture so add a hint of highlighter across the top of the cheekbones and  a contour powder under, Benefits 10 powder is a great Duo.  This will certainly make the cheekbones pop!!
  • Finish the look with a neutral shade of lipstick, gloss or balm whichever you prefer.

So......Spotted

With such heavy film schedules lately the Rougettes have been spotted here there and everywhere around our fabulous city!!From city centre to Crosby, Waterloo, Walton, Woolton Village, The Shipping Forecast, NWCRF HQ and just about anywhere else you can think of!!
They have been spotted on More! online, H magazine and have been meeting with some exciting people for some very exciting upcoming projects at Cetra Studios and Strange Case Collectives!!
The girls were also excited to attend the 'Blooming great tea party' held in aid of Marie Curie and organised by the fabulous Laura O'Connor of Laura's little Bakery and Pauline Coxy at the fabulous Schmooze.

THE ROUGE BOOTH @ THE BUTTERFLY BALL

We hope you have all got your tickets to the North West Cancer Research Funds Butterfly ball!!! If not you must hurry as tickets are selling out fast!!  Anyone who is anyone will be there and the opportunity for a great night out in aid of a great cause is too much of an opportunity to pass up!!

The evening Promises to be fun filled and best of all the Rouge Booth will be there all evening taking care of all of your beauty needs!! What else could you possibly ask for!  There promises to be a host of fabulous raffle prizes, amazing auction items and of course a scrumptious 3 course meal!!  The wine will be flowing so why not join in on the fun!!

More! Magazine Dream Job Interview

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to be asked by the fabulous Natalie at More! Magazine for an interview for an article about 'Landing your Dream Job'.

So whilst Robyn was working away on a fantastic new feature film, it was left to Sian to talk about how and why we launched So Coco Rouge!

Today the article landed into our inbox, and boy were we shocked to see how they describe our job title!!

If you've already read Part 3 of our life and career guide, these girls will really inspire you to go for the job you've always wanted!

Now meet the more! readers doing their ideal job…

THE ENTREPRENEUR (!!!!!)
Name: Sian-Louise Auld Age: 24 Job: Co-director of So Coco Rouge

The details: 'With my friend Robyn, I run an agency in Liverpool called So Coco Rouge. We have ten make-up artists in our team, and my job is to find them work and help them get established in the make-up industry, which can be very competitive. We send girls on fashion shoots, to TV sets and to events in Liverpool. We recently did the make-up for a new Dracula movie, which was great fun! I typically start work at 8am and work through till 8pm. Some days, I get the train to London to meet potential clients and do make-up myself on shoots. No two days are ever the same and I Iove my job!'

How I got here: 'I left school at 16 and went to night school to do make-up training and beauty therapy. I then did some work experience and that led to a place in a make-up school in Manchester. At the school, I met Robyn, and after five years of working as a freelance make-up artist, we set up So Coco Rouge in January 2011. We’ve got a great office at the heart of Liverpool’s cultural quarter, and it’s amazing running my own business.'

Top-tip: 'Find a partner to help you get your business idea off the ground. Robyn is my best friend so I can be completely honest with her about everything. Also, get help from a local business service, like Business Link. Writing a business plan and sorting out a bank account can be stressful, but there are people out there who can advise you on how to do it. Also, find a mentor. Keep in touch with everyone you do work experience with and ask for advice from someone who’s already doing what you want to do.'

THE ROUGE REVIEW VOLUME IV

Hey Peepettes, Ruby Rouge here, reporting back on the last two weeks from So Coco Rouge HQ!!!

So surprise surprise yet again the SCR calender has been bursting!!  The last fortnight has seen an expansion of  the So Coco Rouge Head Quarters by opening its very own head offices!!  Due to the workload the girls have been experiencing it just seemed like the next step was ready to be taken!! My little Make-up moguls are certainly growing up, with their very own desks!!   This certainly came in handy when the 'Rougettes' held interviews to expand the Rougette event and freelance team!! This was very exciting and the SCR studio witnessed a lot of creativity over those days!!  We feel very lucky at So Coco Rouge to have had some amazing applicants and now added some very talented members to the Rougette Team!!

Also my little beauties have been spotted in some rather cool places such as the cool and swanky hospital club in London!! Also they have been spotted in a major networks very own television studios!!! (watch this space there will be some very exciting news to follow).  The Rougettes have also been interviewed by some awesome national magazines which will be posted up once they're published!!

Yet again there have been more weddings especially over the bank holiday weekend!! Plenty of happy bridal parties- so the Rougettes have had an extremely busy time indeedy!

COPYCAT COCO

I don't think there's anyone out there who hasn't heard the fabulous news that Beyonce and Jay Z are now expecting their first child!!  Its such amazing news and I think you will all agree that it is so lovely when people as 'big' as they are in the limelight are so humbling and  in love!! That is going to be one stylishly spoilt baba!!

I think Beyonce has probably tried and pulled off every possible look over the years and she is definitely a woman who oozes independence and femininity!  Beyonces look is always glowing and she exudes confidence with very little fuss to her make-up.

  • I would start this look by mixing a luminous cream and a light foundation such as Mac Strobe cream and Mac Face and Body foundation.
  • Beyonce has very clear skin but if your not as fortunate as she dab a small amount of concealer on any blemishes you may have, I recommend Benefits Boing.
  • Next apply a nude pigment to the eyelid, Mac does a great range of natural tones.
  • Then apply a gel liner across the lash line of the top lid.  Bobby Brown Gel liner is a good one.
  • Sweep a highlighter powder across the apples of the cheeks.
  • frame the eyes with a light coat of mascara and a few individual eyelashes on the outer corners of the eyes opening them up.  Eyelure do a great range.
  • Finish the look with a good gloss on the lips, Lancomes Juicy tubes are always a winner.
SO SPOTTED.......

As I said before the Rougettes have been spotted in and around London yet again!!!I'm Starting to think they spend more time in the big smoke than they do up in the North West!!
They have also been in the new SCR offices holding interviews and doing paperwork.  They have been seen on shoots at Static Studios Liverpool, Formby Beach, Waterloo Docks and preening brides in some great local venues!! They have been in the amazing PR offices of Think Publicity, some very famous Television Studios and have even had their very own photo shoot!!!

Until next time,
TTFN

THE ROUGE REVIEW VOLUME III

Welcome back my lovelies, Ruby Rouge here reporting back with the events of the last two weeks, and what a spectacular two weeks they have been!!!

My little Rougettes have yet again had a busy schedule as they have been working on a new 3D feature film!!! My lovelies do love the life of filming as everyday can be so different from the last!!  With this latest project being no exception!! (and it has most definitely tested their skills as artists!!!) they have also had the opportunity to take along some of their Rougettes in training which has been an amazing opportunity for everyone!!

You may have seen from our last blog post that we also held a Portfolio day for some fellow make-up artists looking to improve their books!! The day brought together Make-up Artists, Hair Stylists, Fashion Designers and Photographers all looking to network and get some great images for their portfolio's!!! A few of the pictures have started to come in and i must say i am very impressed with all of the girlies who took part!!

Also, lets not forget its 'Wedding season' and the girls have been busy preening bridies for their special days!!! In particular our fabulous Bride Emma who was so pleased she booked us to come back the day after her wedding day for the whole So Coco Rouge experience as she was having another wedding soiree with even more friends and family than the day before!!! (and yes ladies she did have a whole new dress for the occasion and yes I was so.... jealous).

COPYCAT COCO

This week everywhere we look we have seen the fabulously gorgeous Mila Kunis who has been out and about promoting her new film 'Friends with Benefits' in which she stars along side the equally gorgeous Justin Timberlake!!

Mila always has a fabulous summertime glow and due to her amazing looks and gorgeous skin minimal effort is required!

  • For this look i would start with a good Luminous foundation such as Photogenic Lumessence By Lancome all over.
  • Compliment this foundation with a light reflective concealor such as YSL's famous Touche eclat under the eyes and along the brow bone.
  • Next apply a sunkissed glow along the cheek bones, up the temples and and down the centre of the nose.  I recommend Mac bronzer in Golden.
  • Then apply a warm golden brown eyeshadow to the whole eyelid to make your eyes 'pop'! I love Lily Lolos Sticky Toffee Colour.
  • Frame the eye with a pencil such as Chanel's Le Crayon Khol and Finish the eyes with a defining mascara such as Lancomes Definicils.
  • Finish this look with a natural toned gloss such as Cliniques vitamin C Lip smoothie in Pear-perfection.

SO.....SPOTTED

As i said earlier my rougettes have been filming the last two weeks which has taken them to some interesting locations to say the least! The most memorable being a fabulous Welsh castle ruin set back amongst the hills!!! However unfortunately we are not allowed to give full details!! My ever famous saying come's to mind.....All will be revealed!!!

The girls have also been seen at, The Raddison Hotel Liverpool, Thornton Manor Wirral, Merebrook House Wirral, Ness Gardens Wirral and they spent some quality time in our favourite shop Wigs up North in Manchester!!!! (The Rougettes love the Wig Girls!!!)

Anywho TTFN,

Wednesday 3 August 2011

THE ROUGE REVIEW VOLUME II

Hey there,

I'm Ruby Rouge and welcome back to my bi-weekly round-up of what my little rougettes have been up to!!!!
The last two Weeks have been super cool and funky as my rougettes have been nationwide representing the company!!  They've also been canoodling with the stars at the latest Marvel comics movie, chatting to media moguls, casting models for the 'Rouge School' portfolio day and doing some prep work for LFW 2012.

Copycat Coco

Last week we were lucky to be invited to the Captain America Premiere which was in aid of North West Cancer Research fund (www.nwcrf.com), which is a charity we at So Coco Rouge hold dear to our hearts and always like to support them in anyway we can.  That is why this week I have decided to dedicate this section to the beautiful Hayley Atwell who plays the lead female role 'Peggy Carter'.

Hayley is a British English rose who shows us that a natural make-up can still ooze glamour on the red carpet.

To recreate this sophisticated natural look just follow my simple steps

  • Firstly apply a light tinted moisturiser in your matching shade.  My favourite is Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser as it has beautiful natural glow and of course a good SPF.
  • Second apply a nude colour eyeshadow over the whole eyelid.  I think a must have is Macs pigment in 'Naked' which looks amazing with every eye colour.
  • Then apply a good coating of mascara.  Max Factors masterpiece max would add a good sense of drama to glam this look up.
  • sweep a nice pink toned blush upwards along the cheekbone to really get the feeling of 'The English Rose' look
  • and lastly smother the lips in a good gel/balm which would add a natural softness to the lips yet allow them to shine.  I would be lost without my Lucas Pawpaw ointment.

So.....spotted

Since the last time we spoke the girls have been run off their feet and travelling the country!!! My rougettes have been spotted in Scotland, Manchester, Liverpool and London and of course traipsing the red carpet of the Captain America premiere!!!!
The rougettes have been feeling a lot of diversity with work as they have been preening brides, Casting models, interviewing with TV execs and mothering models!!!  They have also been very involved in some serious preparation for London Fashion Week 2012 and have fallen head over heels for designs that wont be gracing the catwalks for another 7 months!!!!

Anywho that's enough from me!!! Hope to see you back here in another 2 weeks!!

TTFN,

COPYCAT COCO
This week saw the international film premiere of Harry Potter 'the Deathly Hallows part 2'.  My Make-up spot of the fortnight is the beautiful Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) who sported a fun, flirty smokey eye with attitude showing us shes a young trendsetter with the grace of a Hollywood starlet!!

To recreate this glamourous red carpet look at home follow these very simple steps!!!
  • Apply a good eyeshadow base to the whole eyelid!! My faourite is Art Decos eye base available at salons nation wide.
  • Then apply a gold eyeshadow to the inner corners of each eye.  Try Sleeks 'Divine sunset' pallete, Superdrug.
  • A black shadow would then be blended in from the outer corners covering the lid up to the socket line.  Any strong pigmented black will do!!
  • Line the full circumfrence of the eye with a black Kohl pencil like Mac Kohl in 'smoulder'
  • For the creative twist like Emmas apply a small amount of gold leaf (available at any good craft store) to the outer corners using a small amount of vaseline.
  • To finish this look add a good layer of a volumising mascara like Lancomes Hypnose Drama, available nationwide in beauty halls.
SO.....SPOTTED

Body Confidential Review

Last month we were delighted to welcome Jen Leeming to our studio, for a but of pre-party pampering, before she headed off to a fabulous ball!

Jen is a journalist for Body confidential and Liverpool Confidential, and not only was she with us to feel and look beautiful for the ball, but scarily she was here to review us too!!!

We had a great time getting to know Jen, and creating a look that suited her personality and style. And its an understatement to say we are delighted by the review she gave us!!!

IT’S a universal truth that getting ready is far more fun than actually going out. Who doesn’t love cracking open the bubbly and glamming up with their mates? Still, however much you love your girls, there’s no denying that sometimes you wish some magical hair and make-up fairy godmother could float down and make you look fabulous. And that’s where So Coco Rouge comes in…
In a city where glamour is as highly regarded as Liverpool, So Coco Rouge is the answer to the prayers of many a girl lost in the often scary and overwhelming world of beauty.
There’s nothing better than discovering a hidden gem nestled in the heart of your city, and the shiniest of these gems simply has to be this make-up and hair studio. Tucked away in a corner of the trendy Georgian Quarter, So Coco Rouge is the baby of Robyn Turnbull and Sian-Louise Auld - two lovely ladies with an impressive fifteen years experience of the beauty world between them.

In a city where glamour is as highly regarded as Liverpool, So Coco Rouge is the answer to the prayers of many a girl lost in the often scary and overwhelming world of beauty. Offering a wide selection of services ranging from girls night out makeovers, bridal hair and make-up and even styling for editorial pieces or fashion shoots, there is nothing these ladies can’t do.

I popped down to visit the girls and immediately fell in love with their gorgeous little studio, a place that combines decadent style with the cosy feel of your own bedroom. With dressing room lights around the mirrors, plush cream carpets and a retro style, who wouldn’t want to get ready for their big day (or indeed night) here? Not only that, but within minutes of my arrival, I was being offered champagne and cupcakes. Now that’s celebrity living.

Before getting started on my makeover, the girls took special care to make sure they knew exactly what I wanted. They understood exactly what it’s like to sit and watch your hair being turned into a pouffy disaster or your face transformed from Coco Chanel to Coco the Clown but not being brave enough to say anything. From that moment on, I knew I was in safe hands.

One of the company’s best elements is that Sian and Robyn are trained to do hair AND make-up, meaning they aren’t restricted to one area when it comes to their clients. Not only that, but they trained together, so they know each other inside out, skilfully whizzing around each other without ever clashing.

They both got to work straight away, talking me through exactly what they were doing, and what products they were using on me, a touch that I loved – after all, how many of us actually know what goes into the stuff we’re putting on our skin? The girls at workThe products were beautiful, making me want to dash home and reassess my own pitiful collection. Their favourite brand is Lily Lolo - a mineral-based range that the girls confided had antibacterial properties, they use make-up that’s actually good for skin.

The finished look was perfect – classy but subtly glamorous, and perfectly matched to the dress I would be wearing later that evening. Even better, it didn’t budge all night, meaning that I was never stuck in the toilets desperately trying to stop my make-up from sliding off my face, and could concentrate on the much more important task of dancing instead.

As for my hair, I must admit I was nervous of being turned into a bride, but after telling Robyn how much I loved the Grecian look, she deftly gave me a beautiful loose up-do, full of twists and little plaits that had people asking jealously how I’d managed to create such an incredible hairstyle. Don’t worry though, I told them all the truth. Eventually…

Finished makeupSo Coco Rouge has become successful through little more than a brilliant industry reputation – these girls don’t need to sell their company, their fabulous results sell themselves. One of my favourite parts of their experience is the Rouge Booth, something they offer to any of their clients who happen to be putting on a big party, be it a wedding or an award ceremony. It’s here where the girls really do become fairy godmothers, setting up home at your do and fixing faces, collapsing hairstyles and even ripped dresses to make sure that there are no last minute disasters. Everyone knows that the women’s bathroom is an unofficial make-up studio anyway, so why not have someone there who actually knows what they’re doing?

So Coco Rouge is my new favourite place in Liverpool – I spent the most relaxing, exciting and fun afternoon with two young women who are as friendly as they are talented. If you want a place where you can feel like a star for a few hours, then head down to Hope Street. I’ll see you there.
