Wedding Show with a difference!

The 15th and 16th January saw thousands of brides attend Liverpool's biggest wedding show, held at Knowsley safari park. So Coco Rouge was kindly asked by Bliss Wedding Shows to be involved with the hair and make-up side of things for their catwalk show.
JK dance and Arthur Gourounlian ( who has worked with Cheryl Cole and Kylie Minogue) choreographed the performance which featured dancers from this years X Factor. So it was very different to the usual bridal catwalk!

Arthur had great ideas on hair and make-up which he felt would suit the style of dance and music perfectly.

The images we used as visual ideas where taken from Cheryl Cole's parachute video -

Hair was to embrace a Latin/Spanish feel, so we sleeked the girls hair back into low side buns.

Tony from Marry me Films was asked to film parts of the performance, which can be seen here

Thanks to the Rouge Pro Team who worked so hard that weekend.

Blackburne House Bridal Shoot

Blackburne House is a Grade II listed building directly opposite So Coco Rouge's studio in The Hahnemann Building on Hope Street, and we regularly sit with a coffee and admire its beauty!

So imagine our delight when we were asked to provide hair and make-up for their Wedding Literature!

We worked with a fabulous team- Zoe Photography, Belles Bridal Boutique and Bliss with the gorgeous Alissa modelling.

Here's a taster of the images we created!

Beautiful Brides

Here at So Coco Rouge we adore working with brides-to-be on the run up to their special days.

We thank Zoe Photography for sending these images of some of Sian-Louise's beautiful brides, Charley and Laura.

Here's Sian adding the finishing touches to Charley's vintage inspired make-up!

1960's Mad Men Inspired Shoot

It's shoots like these when the So Coco Rouge team really appreciate their Hope Street location!

Our fabulous neighbour Zoe, of Zoe Photography very kindly asked Robyn and I if we would be interested in working with her on a 1960's/ Mad Men inspired shoot, where Zoe not only took these wonderful images but also styled the models and designed the set!! What a talented neighbour we have!!

Jess and Carl completed the team, and were both absolute stars- not once moaning about how cold it was!!

Enjoy!

Faceon Magazine

What a wonderful start to the day, when the postman arrives with the new edition of Faceon magazine!

After flicking through this seasons issue, to my surprise I came across an image I worked on with photographer  Courtney Louise Howson
Included with the image is a piece I wrote explaining my inspiration behind the make-up-

'We wanted the shoot to be based on a human/bird-like women, exploring the woodland she roamed in
I designed the make-up to have a really bare, natural feel to one side but also a dark stark contrast to the other. For this I took inspiration from the colours of the leaves, bark and surrounding bird's feathers. The lips, we decided should have a reddish tone, but with a multi tonal effect where they gradually faded'
